Abstract

Recently, we have demonstrated by molecular cloning that a strong immunosuppressive factor derived from Mycoplasma arginini is arginine deiminase. We show here that mycoplasma species identified in many of AIDS patients also bear the arginine deiminase gene. The implication of the arginine deiminase gene detected in AIDS‐associated mycoplasma species is discussed. © owned by Center for Academic Publications Japan (Publisher)
