Abstract

This Research Have purpose to examine differences in students 'mathematical abilities and compare students' knowledge for medium and low accreditation schools when given the same treatment by applying the think pair share (TPS) type of cooperative learning model compared to conventional learning models in this case on circle material. The population of this Research was all eighth grade students of Ambon AL-Wathan Middle School consisting of 2 classes, namely classes VIII1 and VIII2 with accreditation of school B (medium). All eighth grade students of Ambon ASS-Salam Middle School consisting of two classes, namely class VIIIa and VIIIb with C (low) school accreditation. The type used in this Researchbis the type of experimental research (Experimental Research). The research design used is the Post test Only Control Group Design. From the experimental results for both schools, it was found that the cooperative learning model think pair share (TPS) was more effective in learning circle material which meant that: (1) classical learning completeness was achieved, (2) the teacher's ability to manage effective learning, (3) student activity in effective learning; and (4) student responses to positive learning
