Continuing advances in technologies such as sensors, automatic identification and tracking, embedded computing, wireless communications, broadband Internet access and distributed services have contributed to the proliferation of the Internet of Things (IoT) in our daily lives. The accelerated integration of Internet-connected devices in our daily activities brings a multitude of benefits as well as challenges such as those associated with forensics, security and privacy. This chapter reviews the current literature of IoT devices and identifies the overlapping challenges in forensics, security and privacy. It further analyzes the interrelatedness of these challenges through a conceptual model and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) case study. These discussions raise awareness to the relationship between the challenges in forensics, security and privacy of IoT devices and offer opportunities for the development of safer and more secure technology.
