Abstract

We present a new asynchronous algorithm for the demodulation of single image fringe patterns with wide frequency content based on a five-step asynchronous algorithm which has been steered using the fringe direction to deal with closed fringe patterns. Numerical and experimental results show the good behaviour of the proposed algorithm for a number of different experimental set-ups. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2009.
