Technique of automatic judgment of offside based on soccer video

Abstract

According to the offside phenomenon in soccer game, a solution of automatic offside judgment is introduced .The precise coordinates can be obtained and reconstructed by utilizing the technology of computer vision and image processing. On this basis the algorithm of offside judgment is designed and implemented by the computer programming. The experimental results indicate that the algorithm proposed in this paper is feasible and effective, thus it can be adopted as electronic referee to assist in judgment of offside. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
