Abstract

TixFe100-x (50 less than or equal to X less than or equal to 62) thin films 3000 Angstrom in thickness have been deposited on Si (100) substrates using a Facing Targets Sputtering (FTS) system. The magnetic properties of those films have been investigated in the temperature range from 1.8 K to 300 K, with varying the applied field up to +/-5 T. A decrease of the Curie temperature of the samples with increasing x was found. Quite square magnetic hysteresis loops were observed at temperatures far below their Curie temperatures, with rather small coercive fields. With the temperature increasing, another magnetic phase with high coercive force begins to dominate and much more smooth hysteresis loops appear.
