Abstract

The article discusses the privacy policies of social networking sites. It draws on the article "The Right to Privacy," by Samuel Warren and Louis Brandeis, which is considered one of the most significant journal articles exploring how new technology intrudes upon private lives of individuals. It explores Warren and Brandeis' arguments and the courts' use of "The Right to Privacy" as precedent in factual situations. Moreover, it mentions that some social networks have made disclosures of private information, which shows noncompliance with the private policies posted by social networks.
