Abstract

Providing mobility in access networks is a challenge that we have to deal with. Due to networks' convergence and migration to all-IP networks, mobility management at the network layer is required. However, there is a need for cooperation mechanisms between the network layer and lower layers to support multimedia services and make handover more efficient. This paper presents experimental research on simultaneous handover performance in an integrated PMIPv6 and 802.11 WLAN system. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.
