Abstract

Training and assessment of nurses involved in the care of the patient supported on ECMO is vital to ensuring excellent and safe care. This chapter defines the different roles nurses have within the ECMO team and outlines the training and assessment requirements for each role. The second section discusses the ongoing educational requirements.
