Abstract

Generally speaking, psychological assessment may include many measures of human behavior, including a clinical interview with the patient, behavioral observations, data from the medical record, information from family members or loved ones, and data from norm-referenced tests. More specifically, depression and anxiety assessment refers to an evaluation process that uses a combination of standardized and non-standardized measures to identify the presence, severity, and impact of symptoms of anxiety and depression. In order to understand the assessment of depression and anxiety, it is first imperative to have a general understanding of depression and anxiety symptoms.
