The focus of article is the measurement and mathematical modelling of electromechanical car boot door mechanism. In this case, the problem is solved as a two-dimensional mechanism in Matlab/Simulink. The main idea of this model is to allow testing of new control algorithms and control units. To do so, it is necessary to create a computational model in order to avoid using expensive real testing prototypes and devices. The outcome is a parametric mathematical model that allows us to simulate the standard behaviour of a car boot door. Since the model is parametric, it is possible to simulate different mechanisms if the correct set of parameters is provided. With certain modifications, it is possible to run the model in real-time.
