Abstract

The highly specialized nature of medical domains has increased the demand of consultation of medical specialists to solve certain therapeutic and diagnostic problems. This problem requires the development of complex Knowledge Acquisition tools to build this Knowledge Base (KB). In this work, we present a KB System for medical domains which has shown the benefits of approaching the KB design from a wider perspective, allowing users to provide, query and browse knowledge. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
