Abstract

The debate relating to al-daruriyyat is closely related to the maqasid shari’ah which includes the affairs of the world and religion. The importance of understanding al-daruriyyat is the same as understanding maqasid knowledge. Some issues involving an explanation of the al-daruriyyat theory will be applied to which it has been concluded by the fiqh ulama by referring to the verses of the al-Quran and as-Sunnah, and the conclusions of the laws taken from the debate of maqasid shari’ah. Al-Daruriyyat carries the meaning of things related to human life in the world and the hereafter. Social media now gaining attention in term of communication. Among the social media used universally and extensively are Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram and so on. Therefore, various information on al-daruriyyat theory can be searched over the Internet. This study is aimed at identifying the use of social media in explaining the theory of al-daruriyyat clearly and in detail. This study also refers to several journal articles related to this title to refine this study. From the findings, the use of social media can influence the Muslim community, especially in obtaining clarification regarding Islamic religion, which is explaining of al-daruriyyat theory and its application in the daily life of the Muslim community. Writers sees that social media is not just as alternative in Islamic preaching, but also a necessity to the society.
