In this chapter, we will explore a case involving a medical student planning to embark on a short-term medical mission trip after completing the first year of preclinical training. At the conclusion of the case discussion, learners will be able to discuss benefits and risks to all stakeholders involved in a short-term experience in global health while planning to incorporate plans for global health work into a framework that is appropriate and sustainable.
