Abstract

This presentation addresses concerns of Editors and publishers of journals including ethical problems, such as duplicate publication, fabrication and falsification of data, piracy and plagiarism, and mechanisms for journals to deal with these ethical issues. Also covered will be rights of authors and copyright issues, various forms of open access, the benefits of open access to society and potential problems it will cause for journals, authors, readers, and medical physicists in general. © 2009 Springer-Verlag.
