Abstract

The advent of Google Glass was expected to bring about a big change in the AR industry, but it was difficult to popularize it due to various technical limitations. Microsoft HoloLens, which was later revised and fine-tuned in many parts, was also dismissed by the public. Although it is known on the surface that the reason is a lack of content and services, according to investigations, the actual cause is discomfort that is not optimized for human vision. Recently, with the advent of the metaverse, AR glasses equipped with various services are being released again, but as explained earlier, it is having a lot of difficulty in popularizing it. It could be concluded that there would be many difficulties in marketing until the limitations and problems of their angle of vision and image reproduction were resolved. We presented a guideline to solve the fundamental technical limitations of hard-ware such as the viewing angle problem that would occur when manufacturing a navigation program using AR glasses, and produced a prototype suitable for it and tested it with various people. In particular, the most common and universal AR app such as a wayfinding service was implemented, and the guidelines for solving the discomfort felt in the distance and the solution to the discomfort were presented and tested as much as possible with the software method without any hardware improvement. If this experiment is improved through more types of programs so that it can be applied to various services and assist human physical limitations in the future, it is expected that it will be a starting point that can have a good influence on the industry.
