Abstract

The American Psychiatric Association has recently published a new Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM-III) that will have great impact on clinicians and their clients. This paper discusses the history and assumptions of DSM-III, analyzes some of its problems, and suggests ways that DSM-III and behavioral assessment complement each other. ?? 1982.
