Abstract

A framework to develop inputs for production visualization and decision analysis was developed for a manufacturer of windows to renovation market (custom products). The proposed framework creates a pre-planning phase for analysis and production decision taking in a company currently implementing a new ERP system. This planning uses linear programming to model different scenarios for analysis as: (i) minimize the PVC material consumption by modeling the CSP (Cutting Stock Problem), (ii) minimize the assembly time in the line or optimizing the flow based on the window configurations, (iii) minimize the assembly workers solving the ASBL (Assembly Line Balancing) problem. A complete case study is presented for the CSP problem on scenario (i).
