A Study on Smart Cities Using Blockchain

Abstract

The evolution of smart cities has come into existence with the urge of modernistic vision and as an impact of the growth of science and technology in search of a faster, better and safer life. The notion to upgrade the quality and comfort of day-to-day life in order to encourage healthy development and thus improving the work culture of urban systems is the essence of smart cities. The expansion of modern technologies has largely armored the smart cities with many sophisticated electronic devices which help us in life by turning us into more smarter and scientifically developed individuals. The aim of the paper is to present a direction into the basics of the origin and essence of a smart city besides its subtle application, benefits and advantages integrated with the blockchain technology. The probable smart city applications in regards to the technological and developmental future scopes gives another important point of discussion in the paper. Besides this, a few experiences of daily life in smart cities around the globe and the prime obstacles to the implementation and smooth functioning are elaborated.
