Traditional classroom learning and contemporary online learning represent two distinct paradigms of learning, though one of them has existed for centuries while the other is a recent phenomenon. Critics argue about the merits and demerits of both types of pedagogies; however it appears that a 'blend' of both offers an avenue for bringing together 'the best of both worlds.' Traditional institutions have often grappled with achieving the right blend and have experimented in their own ways for inducting online component in conventional classroom learning, which happens to be their forte. In this paper, a methodology to integrate traditional classroom learning with online learning as a unified system has been proposed. The ten step methodology is simple yet effective in highlighting the pitfalls in the integration process and suggesting mitigation measures thereof. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
