Abstract

The Medial collateral ligament (MCL) is the most frequently injured knee ligament. Understanding the anatomy and biomechanics of the medial and posteromedial structures of the knee is crucial for managing these injuries. While non-operative management continues to be the mainstay of treatment after injury, there is a role of surgery in certain acute situations and for persistent instability.
