Abstract

The genetics of seed coat color inheritance in Brassica juncea (L.) Coss. were studied. It was concluded that this character is controlled by two duplicate pairs of genes (R 1 , R 2 ) for brown color, either of which can produce brown seed color when a single dominant allele is present. Yellow seed results when all alleles at both loci are recessive.
