Abstract

Objective: To carry out a systematic review of mindfulness-based brief psychological interventions for symptoms associated with stress. Method: A literature search was conducted between 2005 and 2018. 352 articles were obtained, 28 were selected that met the inclusion criteria. Results: mindfulness-based brief psychological interventions are an effective and efficient treatment in symptoms related to stress. However, no research was found to study these interventions as a strategy to prevent symptoms related to stress. Conclusions: Necessity to carry out studies that with rigorous methodological control, allow to establish solid conclusions regarding the effectiveness of this type of interventions for the prevention of pathologies associated with stress.
