Abstract

This article presents the results of a doctoral thesis that analyzed the discursive practices that affect the experience of democracy at school, from the point of view of high school students, seeking to identify the daily practices that they consider democratic, as well as how to understand their conceptions of politics, citizenship and democracy. From a qualitative approach, based on Action Research, the expression of plurality, participation, respect, the existence of transparent electoral procedures and the need for a change in the organization of schools were recognized as democratic practices.
