Management of the failed dacryocystorhinostomy

Abstract

Recurrent infection (dacryocystitis) after dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) generally indicates either obstruction of the DCR fistula or sump syndrome. On the other hand, symptomatic epiphora following DCR may be challenging in terms of diagnosis and appropriate management since there are so many potential causes of tearing. A careful and systematic examination will pinpoint the specific etiology so that the appropriate therapy may be pursued.
