Abstract

In the paper we present a tool for off-line performance monitoring of parallel applications running under PVM. A trace file collected by XPVM is converted into the pure SDDF one and then it is analysed and visualized using a tool built of the Pablo environment modules. In this way we have avoided developing our own instrumentation. Our monitoring tool is easily extensible and ongoing work focuses on implementing most of the ParaGraph functions. Sample monitoring sessions of a 3-D molecular dynamics program and conjugate gradient benchmark are presented and obtained results are interpreted.
