Abstract

The Internet is infamously insecure (fraudulent and spoofed sites, phishing and spam e-mail, viruses and Trojans, Denial of Service attacks, etc.) in spite of extensive efforts, standards, tools, and research. We will discuss the problems and the pitfalls, and outline solutions and directions for future applied and analytical research. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2005.
