Abstract

The data the government has in RDF format has been opened to the public on the Web in the USA and the UK. Meanwhile, "Linked Open Data (LOD)" has received a lot of attention supported by that trend. However, there are few Japanese datasets as Linked Data. In addition, few studies about method of applying for information services have been conducted. The objective of this study is to implement a mobility service based on Japanese Linked Data. We focus on the modifiability of data, the frequency of update for the data on the websites, and separate the treatments for the datasets depend on the degree of frequency of update to show the possibilities for management of data as Linked Data that consists of various kinds of data. As a practical matter, we created Linked Data in Japanese focused on geographical or positional data and developed a mobility service application to support driving and planning to go for a drive based on using the Linked Data. © 2011 Springer-Verlag.
