Abstract

The present paper is in line with the scope of research in the application of new information technologies to architectural design. Specifically, those applied to stating the accessibility conditions of existing buildings and premises for disabled persons.Spanish law 26/2011, of compulsory enforcement in the whole country by 2015, foresees the obligation to adapt all goods and services available for public use which may be subject to reasonable adjustments. This is the reason why it is necessary to provide technical staff with the right tools to help developing his work in the research and diagnostics of accessibility problems in the building environment. This paper involves the presentation of a developed software system which allows defining all the necessary requirements in a building in a structured manner. Considered as a whole, these requirements will help defining both the accessibility level and the deficiencies of a building and, at the same time, proposing improvement solutions.
