Abstract

A three species mathematical model for the dynamics of susceptible bacteria, infected bacteria, and bacteriophage has been developed taking the consideration of lysogenic life cycle of temperate phage. A portion of infected bacteria is assumed to grow logistically because of lysogenic life cycle of phage. The coexistence of bacteria and bacteriophage has been established. The possibility of existence of susceptible bacteria-free equilibrium point has also been analyzed. A simple Hopf bifurcation has been obtained for nonzero equilibrium point.
