Abstract

This book is unique, since it reveals the outstandingpersonality underlying Majorana's notes. Anextraordinary mixture of mathematical command, physicsintuition and creative thought makes the Notesenjoyable for physicists of every discipline. The Notesare interesting for both graduate students andtheoretical physics experts. In fact, the contentsrange from applied physics models, thorough fundamentalatomic physics, to advanced group theory. The Noteshave never been published and here they appear in thesame format as organized by Ettore Majorana. The styleis plain, proposed solutions to physics problems areoriginal. These notes are intended as a series offundamental physics themes treated by Ettore Majoranaduring the first ``burning years'' of the PanispernaGroup, as the new deal of physics started in Romearound Enrico Fermi.
