Abstract

Recognizing multi-warship in infrared image is very important to missile imaging guidance, an algorithm is suggested in this paper to recognize one ship among the other ones in infrared images. Four silhouette features are defined to describe infrared ships. A rule based on BP neural network with these four features is set up to distinguish one ship from the other ones. A complete algorithm is presented. This algorithm was simulated in computer with twenty-five images. The results showed this algorithm is valid when the sides of the ships face the camera. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
