Abstract

The article suggests the destiny of small island developing states (SIDS) matters more than ever amid global economic, political, social and environmental insecurity. It examines Greek antiquity and the idea of development arguing that SIDS must recast industry if they are to benefit from the blue economy and technological innovation in niche areas of specialization, including those linked to energy and sustainable resource management.
