Abstract

The aim of the Special Course on Stability and Transition of Laminar Flows was to present the knowledge of laminar-turbulent transition. Incompressible two-dimensional and com- pressible flows in transonic, supersonic, and hypersonic regimes were covered, as well as available results for three-dimensional flows. The course notes consist of material presented and discussed at the Special Course held at the von Karman Institute, Belgium, on 26-30 March 1984 under the joint sponsorship of the Institute and the AGARD Fluid Dynamics Panel.
