Single-phase Fe3SnN compound has been fabricated for the first time by annealing iron-tin oxalate in a mixture of NH3 and H2. It has a f.c.c. crystal structure, and the d space was calculated from the results of X-ray diffraction. The Mössbauer result indicates that the compound is a ferromagnet at low temperature (20 K), but shows paramagnetism at room temperature. The average grain size of Fe3SnN is about 10 μm.
