Abstract

This interview transcript covers a brief professional and intellectual history of Professor Yen Ching-Hwang, an eminent historian who has made scholarly contributions to the studies of the history of Chinese overseas, history of China’s late Qing and Republican eras, Chinese business history, and others. Professor Yen discusses his intellectual upbringing, methodology in research, research agenda, views on Malaysia’s history and China’s developments, and so on in this interview.
