Abstract

The development of computer software ranks among the major historical advances of the last century. Preserving a representative historical record of this achievement is an international cultural goal. Achieving the goal, however, must be the shared responsibility of many cultural institutions working together. These institutions include archives, libraries, and museums, in both the public and private sectors. What should be the specific role of history museums?
