Introduction and Aims: Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical widely used in polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins manufacturing. BPA is considered cytotoxic with effects as endocrine disruptor affecting also to immune system. The potential health implications of blood BPA accumulation in CKD and haemodialysis patients using different dialyzer membranes is not well established. We have studied the effect of dialysis-associated BPA levels on redox response. OBJECTIVES: 1.- To determine whether there are changes in BPA serum levels and oxidation markers in HD patients under the two different dialyzers. 2.- To examine if there are a relation between BPA and oxidation markers. Methods: In a crossover trial we compared Polinephron (PN), without BPA in its composition vs polysulphone (PS) with BPA in membrane and housing composition. Patients were dialyzed for 3 months with either dialyzers which were previously used PN started with PS, and viceversa. After 3 months patients change Its dialyzers (Crossover). For all basal BPAvalues, 3 and 6 months were done. The BPA was determined both by high-sensitive comercial ELISA and HPLC-FLD. Oxidation markers Nrf2, HO1, Prx1 were measured by immunodetection in 10 patients at the same time. Results: 69 HD patients, mean age 65.06+/-13.2, with 63.28+/-92.04 months HD, 40 males. 41 patients baseline treated with PS, basal BPA 41.6 ng/ml vs PN 20.9 ng/ml. After 3 months PS group increase 56.2 ng/ml ( p0.01), and PN decreased 17.1 (p 0.1527).Oxidation markers increased with PS and with PN. Nrf2 increased with PS 416,141+/-42,42% vs with PN 198,346+/-15,47 % (p
