Abstract

Innovation ecosystems are the environment in which all startups begin. In this chapter, we cover one of the most powerful tools in the creation of ventures -- incubators and accelerators. We first define what an incubator and accelerator is in this context. We then go into much greater detail about incubators and accelerators. In each section, we touch on some of the issues and limitations and then expand on those limitations. Where possible, we use specific examples to illustrate differentiation between accelerators.
