Abstract

The conventional hierarchical and segmented structuring of contemporary organizations, that is considered to be valid in the past with a positivist understanding and based on equilibrium and order, is no longer sufficient for their survival and sustainability. Because today’s organizations have incrementally exhibited the characteristics of non-linear complicated systems by drawing away from equilibrium and order. For this reason, structuring and managing of organizations must be in accordance with these characteristics. In this framework, that organizations as living systems have to be managed on the edge of chaos as a form of management appropriate to their natures has been discussed in the article.
