Abstract

Persons with a predisposition to acne vulgaris have fragile follicles which easily rupture from various traumas. The distribution of the lesions in pressure or friction areas suggests the diagnosis of acne mechanica. These persons already have acne, mild though it may be. The trauma leads to rupture of microcomedones.
