Abstract

This study aims to analyze a pro-environmental behavior model for farmers in the Dieng plateau, Indonesia. Some variables used to predict PEB are an environmental concern, perceived behavioral control, and environmental Attitude. The number of questionnaires in this study was 12 items using a five-point Likert scale. Respondents in this study were farmers who had their fields and had carried out pro-environmental agricultural practices. The number of samples in this study was 200 respondents. The data analysis tool used is PLS-SEM. The results of the research show that all the proposed hypotheses are supported. Environmental concerns and perceived behavioral control affect E.A. and PEB. And E.A. has a direct effect on PEB. This research has a novelty related to the object of research, namely small farming, and very slow adoption. Besides that, this study also discusses the pro-environmental behavior from the internal side of farmers. Previous studies on adopting pro-environmental practices by smallholders have primarily focused on external constraints. This internal side of the farmer is believed to play an essential role in adopting pro-environmental behavior and the social order of life.
