Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to describe the proposed idealized type of paint film, the postulated mechanism and the major factors assumed to influence the leaching of a single soluble pigment from an insoluble paint vehicle, and to attempt a precise mathematical treatment. The effect of the variables listed will be examined and compared with the effects predicted by the mathematical treatment.
