Abstract

Lifetimes of yrast band states of 174, 176, 178, 180Hf have been measured using fast-electronic scintillation timing or Coulomb excitation. The lifetimes of the 21+, 41+ states and apart from 176Hf also of the 61+ states have been determined, using the slope and the centroid shift methods. By using the same setup for all isotopes of interest systematic uncertainties were reduced.
