Abstract

In this article, a new and powerful analytical method which does not need small parameters, called the Homotopy-perturbation method, is introduced to solve strongly nonlinear coupled systems. Jaulent-Miodek equations are chosen to illustrate the capability and effectiveness of the method. The obtained results are compared with those obtained by the variational iteration method and exact solutions. The comparison shows that both methods are tremendously effective. © 2008 IOP Publishing Ltd.
