Abstract

There is a well-known dilemma in Marx's theory between criticism of ethics and the rejection of capitalism as unfair. On the one hand, Marxists think that political emancipation requires the clarification of the ideological components of moral evaluation. On the other hand, Marx saw strong ethical objections to liberal individualism, but he didn't either accept communitarian traditionalism. This paper explores ethical issues related to care and dependency in order to advance towards the resolution of those paradoxes.
