Abstract

This chapter is an introduction to electron microscopy. Instrumentation, electron optical principles, formation of an image and diffraction in the transmission electron microscope, as well as contrast and basic principles of high resolution electron microscopy are discussed. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht.
