Abstract

A simple explanation is provided for the advantages of magnetic materials in microstrip antenna miniaturization The observations are derived from a standard transmission-line model, and the findings are qualitatively verified using numerical simulations. It is shown that the advantages of magnetic materials arise from the favorable antenna geometry and favorable feed technique. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
