Abstract

Industrial problems can seldom be fully formalized. Many decisions depend on the image that a company desires to project, the policy it wants to adopt vis-à-vis its customers and its competitors, its economic or legal environment, etc. Its decisions regarding the design of a new product, its manufacture, and its launch depend on dialogue and negotiations with several players. All of these factors make it difficult to formalize such decision problems with the aim of solving them by means of a computer.
