Abstract

The aim of this work is to study the large-time behavior of the Scharfetter-Gummel scheme for the drift-diffusion model for semiconductors. We prove the convergence of the numerical solutions to an approximation of the thermal equilibrium. We also present numerical experiments which underline the preservation of long-time behavior. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2011.
